Default Rebirth Gamma: Archer style [international]

REBIRTH GAMMA:
ARCHER STYLE

I have read many different guides on how to complete Rebirth gamma and they are very useful. However many are unclear on what YOUR role is in gamma. Based on my personal experiences completing gamma I'm going to write a guide on how to complete it as an archer.

NOTE: I SAID AS AN ARCHER, Please don't reply to this with ZOMG I R VENO WHAR IS MAI BARRAGE, because I will laugh at you and call you stupid.

Now there are many different aspects to a good rebirth run and I will cover all of them as extensively as I can without getting bored.

[break=Page 1]

CHOOSING YOUR PARTY

This is THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT TO WHETHER YOU SUCCEED OR FAIL THE RUN

DO:
  • Run with guildies
  • Run with people whom you have completed it with before
  • Run it with people your friends recommend to you

DO NOT:
  • Run with people who are unexpierenced
  • Run it with people you know can't complete it
  • Run it with an uncharmed 7x barb who claims he can do it
  • Run it with that barb who failed last time but says "I GOT IT THIS TIME"

Now I don't know about other servers but on Lost City the hardest thing to find is an expierienced barbarian who is level 80-85. All the barbs either:
  • Are above level 85
  • Are below level 78ish
  • Are complete idiots

Now, ask your friends, ask your guild, do everything you can to capture the ultra-rare RB gamma capable barb. What you are looking for in the barb is:

HP hiero
High level roar
Good HP buffed in tiger form
Alpha-Male (genie skill)
Good at keeping aggro

Once you manage to capture one of these rare creatures the rest of the party should be easy. Assuming that you are going for the bonus squad, rainbow squad, whatever (one of each class) then this is what you should be looking for:

VENO:

Herc
Able to farm celebeans quickly and efficiently
Decent Level

Really Venos aren't terribly useful after the 2nd/3rd wave but they are a requirement for the bonus squad and they help you get those super useful auras faster (more on auras later) so don't stress too much over one but do make sure that the veno has experience completing gamma.

MAGE:

Level 10 Dragon's Breath
Able to maintain said Dragon's breath
Experience

Just look for someone who is expierienced and can do good damage.

CLERIC:

Blue Bubble
IQ above 40
Able to keep party alive at all times.
Able to help the charm of the archer tick as little as possible during second boss
Able to tank first boss (anyone can do this it's so easy)

BLADEMASTER:

Good HP
Charmed
Experienced (has to be party leader in rainbow squad)
Able to react fast in case he is needed to tank

Well this is a basic overview of what you should look for when your forming your squad. MOVING ALONG

[break=Page 2]

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEFORE DOING REBIRTH

So I've talked about what OTHER classes should have but this is a guide by archers, for archers. And if your some lowbie with level 1 barrage and no expierence running gamma then your parties will fail and it will all be your fault.

In gamma YOU are one of the main damage dealers in the game. YOU NEED LEVEL SIX BARRAGE AT LEAST

Not five, not four, SIX MINIMUM.

If you want to you can raise it to level 7 but I'm not sure that a level 2 MP aura will be able to sustain that.

Now if you want to do a Zhen party on regular mobs somewhere then yea a level 1 barrage is fine but the mobs in RB are level ? meaning you suffer damage reduction. So a level 1/2/3/4/5 barrage will have PATHETIC damage. Raise your sharpentooth as well.

When you get into gamma your role during all the waves is to use barrage to kill mobs as fast as possible. I will explain how to keep your MP up at all times later but for now just assume you have an unlimited supply of MP if it helps you.

If your barb is good then you won't be taking very much damage from anything during the run (except the second boss, I hate that guy, more on him later) so an HP charm isn't needed but if you got money then go for it.

So make sure that you avoid looking stupid and potentially embarasing me and make sure that you:

Buy bolts/arrows/who cares
Repair ALL gear
MAKE SURE YOU LEVELED YOUR BARRAGE
Have event hp/mp pots

Ok so now lets go down the list, you got a decent level, good on bolts/arrows/whatever, you repaired everything, your barrage is level 6+, you've read this guide.

Ok looks like your ready to go.

Oh and before you go make sure you:
Take a smoke break
Walk the dog
Eat
Drink
Be Merry
Go to the bathroom
Whatever

Because Rebirth takes a while and once you get started there's no stopping it until you complete it or you fail epicly.

[break=Page 3]

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET IN

Ok when you first enter you want to make sure everyone is on and ready to go. Now when you get in make sure you are fully buffed. If rainbow squad head over to receive your bonus celebeans. Eventually the party leader will turn in the RB orders, Harpy wraith will appear, and you will begin.

For the first wave you will be finding an increased life mob out of each wave and casting barrage on him. When the wave is over, run over to the NPC, hit him a few times with your fists, make sure you have double spark, and then head back. Lather Rinse Repeat.

Eventually the boss will show up. Everyone except the cleric leaves. Follow everyone else through the portal and start farming the chests. Do this until whoever is keeping time tell you to head back into the main area. Talk to the pillar that says: return to the fight and head back in. Begin killing the boss, make sure the party leader is in the room before you finish it off though ALTHOUGH if you are running out of time kill it regardless. Failure to kill any of the bosses within the 15 minute time limit causes the devastator to show up and kill everyone and make you fail. And you don't want that do you?

Then you all get your nice XP and coin rewards and feel good about yourselves, maybe slap each other on the ass, I dunno whatever you do. Hurry though because the next wave wont wait for you.

Now at this point things will be a tad bit different. Your party leader will put the MP aura to level 2, if he didn't, he's a failure. With a level 2 mp aura and Barrage of level 6 your MP will never run out no matter how long you cast barrage. At this point when you all form up around the cleric, the party leader will drop the barb.

Select the barb, hold CTRL, and use barrage. The party leader will add the barb back to the party. Now you have a mobile death machine.

Some people will say to cast on the god's eye as it is unable to take damage, they also, SUCK. If you cast on god's eye you wont hit any of the mobs. Period. Maybe one or two max. If you cast on the barrage since the barb has the aggro of all of them (provide he doesn't fail) you will be hitting them all.

Now after you complete all the mobs in the second wave you get to meet the SECOND BOSS.

I HATE this guy. He uses an AOE metal DoT and it can get nasty when stacked. You should attack him from max range while cleric heals you from max range. Yep thats right, your tanking this one. Everyone else goes and farms their little chests, while you get to tank, fun stuff right? Anyways do whatever it takes to bring this monster down in time because if you don't take him down in 15 minutes, well you know. With a level 7x your DPS may not be high enough to take him down in the time limit. Even with a +3 Thundercrack and good luck with crits while spamming tangling mire I BARELY made this boss in the time limit when I was in the 70s. It's recommended you wait until level 80 for your level 80 weapon to do this.

If you make it past this monstrosity then it's all gravy from there on. Well double wave can be intense but more on that later.

I'm bored now taking a break from tryping. I will complete this later, add a few images, etc.

I won't comment for the other classes, cause there's some problems they will encounter when they do the 85+ runs if they follow your guide

Now as for archers, there really isn't much to do except array, max hp down when bossing, and array again. I'll just comment a bit on your level runs, which is 71-85.

Archers can skip the 1st wave. Ideal party would be 1 wizzy, 1 cleric, 1 barb, 2 blades. or switch a blade with another cleric. Practically, switching archers with venoms work as well. But since you touche on archers, that should do it.

a wizzy is vital as when you reach further waves as monsters are grouped not just physical but arcanic. Good example is the 5th wave. If there's no wizzy you might want to consider reaching 4th wave then quit. Cleric? You can try having a try without cleric, hope you last until the 3rd wave barbs are for 2nd wave and onward boss tankers. now an interesting question would be why 2 blades. blades, preferably 1 dual axe 1 pole, plays vital role in luring wave monsters. Though stuns don't work on some of them, wave monsters that are immune to stun will still target the one who stuns them. With 2 blades you have 2 fast moving chars with area stuns to walk around the map grouping monsters into dps area, area that receives most damage from array skills.

again this is for 71-85.

archers have important roles at the start. and from the guide you wrote i can assume you don't know there's run quests that has to be done in that area of chests. since we don't have venoms those quests will be given to blades and barbs, which explains why 3 runners works merrier. and if we got 3 runners to do the quests from wave 1, we lost the opportunity in wave 1 to farm all the chests. which is why archers are vital in this stage.

we got 3 physical dealers, 1 arcanic dealer for the 1st wave, thats enough to survive the whole party and kill all the mobs ahead. archer can be excluded from 1st wave. go and dig chests while your fellows are dealing with wave mobs. From past experience i finished the chests on the last maps after the 6 runs of wave mobs for the 1st wave are dealt with. Finished 2 sides of the chests and managed to dig 1-2 in the 2nd region after 10 mins. Practically farmed all bean mobs and all chests in the end of the 2nd wave, or the beginning of the 3rd wave boss.

after that, basically array array and array. boring but compared to luring, stunning, rapidly pressing skills, your job is kinda easy for the next 3 hours.

Yea it is pretty simple, just barrage, sharptooth, and then barrage some more. Yet you would be suprised how many archers struggle with that idea, also, no matter how easy for you it is, the first time is always going to be daunting.

As for the 2 BMs idea yea having the 2 stunners is nice. However when you think of the potential increase in damage when switching out one of those BM's for another damage dealer. For me the parties I've had with the highest success rate are probably a tie between barb, BM, cleric, and then either 2 mages 1 archer or 2 archers 1 mage. And Rainbow squads, those extra beans are very helpful and you get the benefit of every buff available. Veno's amp works great on bosses and veno's reflect helps the barbs keep aggro.

Mages are vital, absolutely, now I don't know about Delta but for gamma they tend to outdamage me on mobs (except for fire wave) Since a good mage will have level 10 Dragon's breath, while an archer will have level 6, 7 tops, barrage.

I know about the running quests, in all the runs i've done with a BM the BM ran the quests since they aren't extremely useful for the first two waves so while the main part of the party is killing mobs the BM runs quests and the veno farms beans. After the boss shows up cleric stays, BM keeps running quests, mage, archer, and barb all stay in the first room farming chests, by the time you need to head back all the chests will be farmed. The only time I've ever farmed chests was one run I did where instead of farming chests everyone did a quest so they would be able to use their town teleport although I need to try that out a few times before I can tell how effective that is.

But yea like I said for the BM's, they can be very useful in RB, I've had one end up tanking double wave once before cause our barb got raped. However I would never choose having a second BM over having a second damage dealer.

In the long run, try playing with 6 classes, 1 each. Turned out that it is currently one of the best line up when you reach lv85+. As for DPS runs, pole BM can deal higher DPS than archers, if the BM knows what to do.

I have never had a pole BM out DPS me when it came to mobs or bosses, ever. Fists BMs are another story, but they don't have the AOE skills that the party needs. Don't know much about poleblade BM's but I doubt that they can outdamage a pure dex archer using barrage, at least not on multiple targets.

Following the introduction of Fairies and specific skills, BM can outdamage archers easily. Though it all comes to equipment stats and upgrades further in the game.
