Question Seperate Inventory Items

Plez Help!
How do u seperate your inventory items? For instances...if u have 3 items(of the same thing) togehter...how do u seperate them so that u only have 2 items together? Thx!

It's either alt + click and drag or ctrl + click and drag. I forgot which one it is.
