In order to craft, and create various things you have to learn Production Skills. Before you can start collecting anything you first need to buy a Shovel from the Merchant
All items are usually scatter around. Just continue to level and gather the items as you see them. Usually it is easier to focus one or maybe two skills at a time, like just blacksmith or pharmacy, or tailor and pharmacy at once. Doing too much is a pain.

After you finish all the quests go to the "Elder" and speak to her. Choose "Learn Production Skills".
Click on the skills and choose "Yes" to learn them.
Do not lose the books, or you have to buy them for 20,000 gold.
Level 4 Production Skills
You can only learn your level 4 production skills when your character reach level 50. Speak to the "Elder" to get the quests for level 4 production skills.

Start NPC: Master of Herb Picker of Dream Searching Port, Mackenzie (618, 390)
Reward: Exp (500)
Speak with Mackenzie again to view his Mechandise List and buy the item "Apprentrice Pharmacist" for 52,500 gold.
With the item "Apprentrice Pharmacist" in your inventory, speak to the "Elder" to learn your level 4 Pharmacist skill.
